The things they carried ( song and chapters )

Chapter one - This chapter if focused on Cross and about the girl he loves but does not love him back Whitney Houston - I will always love you. Even though the girl does not feel the same about cross he still keeps pictures and holds his feeling.

Chapter three - This chapter is about the troops and what some do in there spare time during the war.
Atmosphere - The best day - This song is about how even though you go through shitty days you can find a little joy with the small thing you do

Chapter four - In this chapter O'Brain receives a draft notice and breaks. He attempts to flee to Canada but mets an older man that helps him through this
Green day - wake me up -  I feel like O'Brain just wanted to escape the war anyway he could almost to "sleep" though the whole thing and to wake him up when its over

Chapter Five - In this chapter Strunk and Jensen get into a bad fistfight over a combat knife that one was accused of stealing.
Sick puppies - Going down - This one is about 2 people finishing there rivalry/beef that they have.

Chapter six - In this chapter both Strunk and Jensen make up and make a pack that if either of them are seriously wounded or crippled that they would end it for the other.
Count on me - bruno mars - This song would go good just cause of the name

Chapter seven - This chapter is about the war and how it is so chaotic and deadly.
Guns and roses - Welcome to the jungle - This song would go good because it is about how thing change very fast and are very hard to control in a new area especially in war.

The things they carried. ( Review )

The book we read this time was a fiction written by Tim O'Brian titled The things they carried. It is a book about a platoon of troops over in vietnam during the war. In my opinion this book was a breath of fresh air from other war story books. In this story everyone in the platoon gets a story. A sort of background to the characters. It is a good addition to the book. This book does not have any sort of "plot" or "linier" story to it. It splits up parts of the war and parts of returning home in a way that works and still flows very well.

Though some chapters a little hard or boring to get through most are good war stories. In some parts the book becomes a little graphic but what do expect with war? I also feel this story does portray how war effected these men during and even long after the war. It shows how some come back to the civilian world and can not find a purpose, it shows how people change completely.

In a couple chapters O'Brain focuses on himself during war time and explanes how stressful and how fast things are. I recommend this book to anyone that likes to read war books. It is very interesting book I give it a 8/10

Video games. ( Favorite )

I made an earlier post on videogames and my past with them but this one is about my favorite one. Like I said before my favorite genre of game is and will always be fighting. My favorite game at the time is titled "Injustice: Gods amoung us. It is made by the same people that make the Mortal Kombat games witch I am also a big fan of. This game is based around the DC comics. Some characters that are in the game that are well known would be batman, superman, joker, the flash etc. I was already a fan of everything DC even before this game was released so naturally I picked up this game and fell in love with it. It is also the game that i have won the most money out of and the one i put the most time in.

In the news ( kind of )

Although its not really news it has something to do something with the new and i found it extremely funny. A fake chef gets set up on multipul local news networks to show off how to make meals with thanksgiving left overs. He is not a real chef and "trolls" the casters by making them eat various concoctions of food that are just gross. I guess its easy to get on local early news.

Faith, Cancer, My mother and MOCA

                                                                 OVERCOME

Lets start about a year and a half ago. My mother was diagnosed with early stages of Ovarian cancer while on a trip to illinois to get her "tubes untied" inorder to have another baby with her fiance but during the operation the doctors found a small tumor and the rest of the operation was postponed. Luckily this was was found early and my mothers chances of surviving where higher then if it was found in later stages.

When you here about people crashing there cars and killing another person or oven there parents getting a fatel illness and thinking to them selves "this wont happen to me" but when it does you think "why me?".  That is what i was thinking "why my mom?" The long periods of time in between test to find out if my mother was going to be ok or not. Thousands of thoughts rushing through my head at one time. The restlessness, worry, anger and sadness that this causes on people that cancer effects is something that I would not wish on my worst enemy. In this time I think it was me that was more worried about my mom then she was. You see my mother is a very devout christian. She would always tell me that this is just a roadblock in this trip we call life and that she will be fine to just have faith and to give thanks to god for everyday you get to wakeup and live, eat and spend time with your loved one.

So the day finally came when her day for surgery to have the tomur removed. My mom got prepped and a couple hours later the doctor told me that the operation was a complete success. When you get news about something that you have been waiting to here for a long time it is an amazing feeling. My mother was cancer free but she was not out of the woods yet. She still gets tested about every 2 months and so far she has come out clean.

After about 6 months after the surgery my mom was recovering great and we attended a walk for ovarian cancer held by an organization called MOCA. MOCA stands for "Minnesota Ovarian cancer Association". It was a 3 mile walk and gathering of survivors and people who have a connection with this illness and it was a great experience. My mother now works with them as the representative for the spanish community of woman that suffer and survived. Though this illness was a horrible time to live trough it was brought me closer to my family and my faith. I am great full to all the people that supported my mother, the doctors and MOCA for bringing light to this desease and paving the road to a cure.

Vacation Spot

I would love to go anywhere where snow is like an extinct animal. Somewhere where there is a lot of sun and beaches. A place where I could just lay back and relax outside. There are a lot of places like this Cali, Hawaii, Florida, Mexico, but if I had to choose I would go to a small chain of islands called sychelles. It a is a couple of miles of the east coast of africa. It is a small secluded peaceful place to just  relax and just let go of everything and forget the rest of the world. It is beautiful and one of my goals in life is to actually get there.

New pet

We have a choice of an animal that we would want as a pet and why. I am assuming that we can choose any animal in the world. I already have 2 dogs so that novelty has already worn off and I do not want another one. I really do not want another animal but is i had to choose i would most likely get a spider. I have seen some really cool looking spiders mostly tarantulas. I know a lot of people have huge fears of spiders but they are harmless unless cornered and provoked. My 10th grade teacher Mr. quik had a spider and it was so friendly. They do not eat much maybe like 2 or 3 times a month. They do not leave waste like piss or poop like other animals that you have to clean up after and they are just plane bad ass.
