Chapter one - This chapter if focused on Cross and about the girl he loves but does not love him back Whitney Houston - I will always love you. Even though the girl does not feel the same about cross he still keeps pictures and holds his feeling.
Chapter three - This chapter is about the troops and what some do in there spare time during the war.
Atmosphere - The best day - This song is about how even though you go through shitty days you can find a little joy with the small thing you do
Chapter four - In this chapter O'Brain receives a draft notice and breaks. He attempts to flee to Canada but mets an older man that helps him through this
Green day - wake me up - I feel like O'Brain just wanted to escape the war anyway he could almost to "sleep" though the whole thing and to wake him up when its over
Chapter Five - In this chapter Strunk and Jensen get into a bad fistfight over a combat knife that one was accused of stealing.
Sick puppies - Going down - This one is about 2 people finishing there rivalry/beef that they have.
Chapter six - In this chapter both Strunk and Jensen make up and make a pack that if either of them are seriously wounded or crippled that they would end it for the other.
Count on me - bruno mars - This song would go good just cause of the name
Chapter seven - This chapter is about the war and how it is so chaotic and deadly.
Guns and roses - Welcome to the jungle - This song would go good because it is about how thing change very fast and are very hard to control in a new area especially in war.

The things they carried. ( Review )
The book we read this time was a fiction written by Tim O'Brian titled The things they carried. It is a book about a platoon of troops over in vietnam during the war. In my opinion this book was a breath of fresh air from other war story books. In this story everyone in the platoon gets a story. A sort of background to the characters. It is a good addition to the book. This book does not have any sort of "plot" or "linier" story to it. It splits up parts of the war and parts of returning home in a way that works and still flows very well.
Though some chapters a little hard or boring to get through most are good war stories. In some parts the book becomes a little graphic but what do expect with war? I also feel this story does portray how war effected these men during and even long after the war. It shows how some come back to the civilian world and can not find a purpose, it shows how people change completely.
In a couple chapters O'Brain focuses on himself during war time and explanes how stressful and how fast things are. I recommend this book to anyone that likes to read war books. It is very interesting book I give it a 8/10

Video games. ( Favorite )
I made an earlier post on videogames and my past with them but this one is about my favorite one. Like I said before my favorite genre of game is and will always be fighting. My favorite game at the time is titled "Injustice: Gods amoung us. It is made by the same people that make the Mortal Kombat games witch I am also a big fan of. This game is based around the DC comics. Some characters that are in the game that are well known would be batman, superman, joker, the flash etc. I was already a fan of everything DC even before this game was released so naturally I picked up this game and fell in love with it. It is also the game that i have won the most money out of and the one i put the most time in.

In the news ( kind of )
Although its not really news it has something to do something with the new and i found it extremely funny. A fake chef gets set up on multipul local news networks to show off how to make meals with thanksgiving left overs. He is not a real chef and "trolls" the casters by making them eat various concoctions of food that are just gross. I guess its easy to get on local early news.

Faith, Cancer, My mother and MOCA
OVERCOME
Lets start about a year and a half ago. My mother was diagnosed with early stages of Ovarian cancer while on a trip to illinois to get her "tubes untied" inorder to have another baby with her fiance but during the operation the doctors found a small tumor and the rest of the operation was postponed. Luckily this was was found early and my mothers chances of surviving where higher then if it was found in later stages.
When you here about people crashing there cars and killing another person or oven there parents getting a fatel illness and thinking to them selves "this wont happen to me" but when it does you think "why me?". That is what i was thinking "why my mom?" The long periods of time in between test to find out if my mother was going to be ok or not. Thousands of thoughts rushing through my head at one time. The restlessness, worry, anger and sadness that this causes on people that cancer effects is something that I would not wish on my worst enemy. In this time I think it was me that was more worried about my mom then she was. You see my mother is a very devout christian. She would always tell me that this is just a roadblock in this trip we call life and that she will be fine to just have faith and to give thanks to god for everyday you get to wakeup and live, eat and spend time with your loved one.
So the day finally came when her day for surgery to have the tomur removed. My mom got prepped and a couple hours later the doctor told me that the operation was a complete success. When you get news about something that you have been waiting to here for a long time it is an amazing feeling. My mother was cancer free but she was not out of the woods yet. She still gets tested about every 2 months and so far she has come out clean.
After about 6 months after the surgery my mom was recovering great and we attended a walk for ovarian cancer held by an organization called MOCA. MOCA stands for "Minnesota Ovarian cancer Association". It was a 3 mile walk and gathering of survivors and people who have a connection with this illness and it was a great experience. My mother now works with them as the representative for the spanish community of woman that suffer and survived. Though this illness was a horrible time to live trough it was brought me closer to my family and my faith. I am great full to all the people that supported my mother, the doctors and MOCA for bringing light to this desease and paving the road to a cure.

Vacation Spot

I would love to go anywhere where snow is like an extinct animal. Somewhere where there is a lot of sun and beaches. A place where I could just lay back and relax outside. There are a lot of places like this Cali, Hawaii, Florida, Mexico, but if I had to choose I would go to a small chain of islands called sychelles. It a is a couple of miles of the east coast of africa. It is a small secluded peaceful place to just relax and just let go of everything and forget the rest of the world. It is beautiful and one of my goals in life is to actually get there.Wednesday, February 26, 2014
New pet
We have a choice of an animal that we would want as a pet and why. I am assuming that we can choose any animal in the world. I already have 2 dogs so that novelty has already worn off and I do not want another one. I really do not want another animal but is i had to choose i would most likely get a spider. I have seen some really cool looking spiders mostly tarantulas. I know a lot of people have huge fears of spiders but they are harmless unless cornered and provoked. My 10th grade teacher Mr. quik had a spider and it was so friendly. They do not eat much maybe like 2 or 3 times a month. They do not leave waste like piss or poop like other animals that you have to clean up after and they are just plane bad ass.

150$. How much it could buy and what we/me would ACTUALLY buy.
In the world we live today the dollor is not worth much but it is still worth something. The difference between 1 dollor and ten dollars is HUGE. Say if a dollor would to fall out of your wallet or whatever you keep you cash in most people would just shrug it off or not even notice they are missing a dollor but if you somehow manage to lose 10 or god forbid oven 20 you would notice in a heartbeat right? In this post we are given 150$ to spend and we have to show and explane why we would by these things. I could give a standard stale answer like get a 150$ prepaid visa get gas for a month or so but thats not creative enough i need art credit for gods sakes. I could also go into a rant on how much food it could buy and medicine for kids over in 3rd world countries but we get enough of that on late night television. So here we go what would I do with 150$.
1.(20$) The first thing i would buy a couple of DC comic posters. I am a huge fan of there artwork characters and lore but thats for a different post. Over all they are just plain awesome. They usually run about 5 to ten buck so lets just say 10 each
3.(50$) Next i would buy a couple of new sweaters and coats because most of mine are ether worn out or MIA. I would probably spend around 50$
First off I am not a big clothes shopper. I know some people like my mom that wont hesitate to buy a 150 dollor pair of shoes or dress because it " was cute and she had to have it " but thats not me at all. I would really like to take some of that money and save it but thats not the point of this blog.

2.(50$) I am a big fan of good artwork so I have a feeling that a lot of this money will go to some artwork. Second i would buy some paint to repaint my room. When we moved in my room used to be a little girls room. Its light purple and sky blue. Its a nice combination and its very cute.... for a girl. I dont know how much that will run me so lets round it out to 50$ for paint and supplies. I will try to post picture of my room in later time

Best movie ever.
When you think best movie of all time you think Rambo, matrix 1, Pulp fiction, fight club and Training day but you would be wrong. This hidden gem of the movie is probably one of the best directed, acted out, imaginative and has some of the best CGI ever created. The title of this masterpiece? Wait for it. Mega shark vs Crocosaurus. Thats right who would NOT want to watch something with such a compelling title?
Even is the title does not grab you the selection of start should grab you right away. Who is starring in this oscar award winning film? Tom cruise? Brad pitt? no we got the biggest of them all. From family matters to saving the world from a huge shark that can take down an antire damn city along with a giant crocodile just because they can add one and Urkel trying to stop them. This is already the greatest movie since the beginning of time you might even say its Prehistoric.... ok moving on. Along with great great jokes through out the movie. At some points you think its a comedy its so funny. Even the CGI, its so good at points it almost made me cry it was so life like. I almost thought i was going to get eaten. With constant action with out hero Urkel pulling through to the very end it is a story of hartwarming proportions. I recommend everyone watch this movie. Trust me you will be smarter when you are done watching it. Urkel and a holographic doctor from star trek fight a giant shark and croc what else is there to say?
Here is a little clip to REEL you in.

The Fighting game spirit, the art of competition and a little about myself
Fighting Game Spirit
Lets start by saying that I love video games but my favorite genre is and will always be fighting games. Why? For one fighting games are more then just mashing random buttons and hoping you win. There is just something about beating down your opponent so bad that they just give you this look of really? Or just rage quit. HA anyways in a shooter like call of duty, battlefield, medal of honor, etc everything is random you can not do anything if you get shot in the back or get a random grenade to the face but in fighting games you control the outcome ether you win or lose. You won because you are better and outsmarted the other person or you lost because the other person is better and outsmarted you. If that's the case you can always hit the lab (training mode) and better your skills for next time. Its a mind game like chess every move you do counts for a lose or a win. You need to think on the fly and adapt to the other players play style. For one I HATE to lose I absolutely hate it. I do not mean to brag but i have won a couple of local competitions over at the rosedale mall. Every 2 months they hold a tournament for people who think can come and take every ones money AKA me :p.

I am very competitive when it comes to things that I like. So whenever the time rolls around when i need to head over to the mall and body some fools I hit the lab and get ready. Like I said its like a chess game you never know what the other person is going to do or thinking. When a better player comes around and just makes me look like a fraud it just gives me motivation to get better and get some sweet sweet revenge. Some people think "why do you waste your time playing these games so competitively?" Hey i bought my car with winnings from fighting games so i do not really think its a waste of time. Its one of my many skills and why not take time to hone them and make a profit right? I am even in the works of talking with a potential sponsor who will fly me out to bigger events paid in full. Even though i have bigger dreams in life then just playing video games its making me money, its better then any job I have ever had and I freaking love doing it. Its more then a game to me it is a passion.
It all started when i was young. I would say 6-7 years old growing up in Brooklyn NY every weekend we would go to the local laundromat. This is where my love for competition started. They had a old arcade system that had one of my favorites and one of the greatest of all time, Street fighter 3rd strike. I would sit on that thing for the whole time we where there and one after another people would come and say " I am going to beat this little kids ass so bad" NOPE i would dominate people one by one and one by one they left a couple quarters short and me with a smile from ear to ear. It was like that every weekend for about a year straight. It got so big that it almost became like an even it self. The laundromat even went and bought more arcade machines to accommodate all the people wanting to play. It was so much fun and of coarse people with a much higher skill level then me would come and kick my ass but hey I loved playing and every time I would say to myself I got him this time and soon enough i took the throne. Now i have a will to win that will never fade as well an my love for the fighting game spirit and competition.
This song pretty much sums it all up

The art of music, Bringing people together and one of my favorite song
Not all people are fans of the same music but there are not many people that do not like music in general. From the classic like guns and roses, queen, Frank Sinatra etc, To the new stars of today like justin Bieber, drake, ASAP Rocky etc. Everyone has there own taste and there own genre that they love. Music is like a painting that makes sound. Its almost like a language that we can all understand and thats the beauty of music.
It’s yours to keep
You just might need one
I finally found my real name
I won’t be me when you see me again
No, I won’t be my father’s son
I’m more than you know
I’m more than you see here
More than you let me be
I’m more than you know
A body in a soul
You don’t see me but you will
I am not invisible
That's right
I’ll be in the invisible world
I don’t dream, not as such
I don’t even think about you that much
Unless I start to think at all
All those frozen days
And your frozen ways
They melt away your face like snow
I’m more than you know
I’m more than you see here
I’m more than you let me be
I’m more than you know
A body in a soul
You don’t see me but you will
I am not invisible
I am here
I am here
There is no them
There is no them
There’s only us
There’s only us
There is no them
There is no them
There’s only us
There’s only us
There is no them
There is no them
There’s only you
And there’s only me
There is no them
One of my favorite songs is pretty recent but it has quickly soared to the top of my list and it is by one of the greats U2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajVoeX4eqIQ&safe=active
It’s like the room just cleared of smoke
I didn’t even want the heart you brokeIt’s yours to keep
You just might need one
I finally found my real name
I won’t be me when you see me again
No, I won’t be my father’s son
I’m more than you know
I’m more than you see here

And there’s only me
There is no them
There is no one way to interoperate a song. That is the magic about music it speaks to everyone in a deferent way. To me this song shouts about how people are are just "invisible" to one another or how people do not really know the real you or me. Or how people go day by day wanting to get the attention of someone you love. Trying to gain a fathers respect, getting a girl to notice you, or even a person that has broken your heart. People are obsessed with what others think of them and what they look like but people do note become your friend or lover by the the way you look, people interact with you through what you are on the inside, what you say and who you are. Your "inside" is invisible to everyone on the outside world. They only get to see it if you let it out and stop caring what people will think of you or if you are being judged. Who really cares what people think of you? as long as you show your true self friendship and lovers will come. That is what this song says to me

ALC Review 1st Post
So this is my blog. I do not really know what a blog is or what to "blog" about but thats the fun right? right, Anyways mi nombre is Cris and i am 18 years old hispanic and very good looking ;p. Today is my first day doing this and i am trying something new. I go to the Saint croix valley ALC but you guys now that cause you go there to but this a a review and explanation of what this school is to anyone who has heard anything wrong or for people who do not understand what this school is and how it works. I am very very close to getting out of here i mean graduating. I have about 250 hours most are in art. I'm not proud of it but I have been here for almost a year more then I should have but thats not anyone but my own fault and thats another story for a different post.
The ALC is a great place to get your highschool credit done if the standerd dry Highschool, 30-40 kids a class, crowded hallways and teachers that do not really have time fo individual students does not really work for you. Well you came to the right place for the exact opposite of that. The ALC a perfect place to come and work at your own pace, work on what you are instrested in and to work on the credit that you need. No boring classes that you dont need to take. although there is no lunch the school days are only 3 hours long! Right! its not very long but do not be fooled its not a free ride through Highschool, this school is based on "hours". Hours is the credit that you earn instead of grades. Also we do not have semesters or quarters we have grading periods. You could think of a grading period as a mini quarters and each "mini quarter" has a minimun amount of hours that you are supposed to get. Hours are based on "IS". What is "IS"? It stands for independent study. Example a math worksheet could be worth 2 hours and is considered independent study. Anything worth hours done outside of class is IS.
Everyday you show up for school on time and stick through the three hour day you get 4 "hours" of credit. So if a grading period is 4 weeks long not counting weekends there is 20 school days that would add up to 80 of credit our hours that you earned just by showing up everyday. Thats not all though every grading period adds IS to the hours required so the 4 week grading period work normally be about 120 hours, 80 in attendance and 40 in IS. The teachers al always willing to help out in anything you need and dont worry there is PLENTY of IS. and if you are not a morning person you can sign up for the afternoon session that starts at 11am Instead of 7:45am. This is a great program overall and i am so happy that i could be part of it. I admet that i could have been more productive and better with being done with my credit but I am great full to all the people that gave me chance after chance and helped me through this road. I would recommend that anyone that is having trouble with the Highschool or is behind on credit give this place a chance you will not regret it. overall 9.5/10
